Paris Vs Barcelona 2017

When Paris Beat Barcelona's Dream Team

A Historic Night for Les Parisiens

March 9, 2017

In one of the most incredible comebacks in UEFA Champions League history, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) stunned FC Barcelona 6-1 in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie on March 8, 2017. The victory overturned a 4-0 deficit from the first leg and sent PSG through to the quarterfinals on away goals.

PSG's victory was a testament to the team's resilience and determination. After being outplayed in the first leg, the Parisians came out with a renewed sense of purpose in the second leg. They took the lead through Edinson Cavani in the 3rd minute, and then went on to score four more goals in the first half. Barcelona pulled one back through Luis Suarez in the 50th minute, but PSG held on to win 6-1 on aggregate.

The victory was a huge moment for PSG and for French football as a whole. It was the first time that a French team had beaten Barcelona in the Champions League since 2000, and it was the first time that PSG had ever reached the quarterfinals of the competition.

The match was also notable for the performance of Sergi Roberto, who came off the bench to score the winning goal in the 95th minute. Roberto's goal sent PSG through to the next round and cemented his place in the club's history.
